PISMO BEACH | Road Trip Photo Diary 2016

On the 15th July, we set off nice and early for our longest drive of the road trip to Pismo Beach. We drove all the way along Highway 1, twisting and turning along the oceanfront. We stopped at various places along the way to split up the journey. Pismo Beach was very cute as it was a typical beach town. We stayed in a little resort with a beach view and basically relaxed for a couple of days.

The first stop we made along the journey was in Monterey. The town had an older personality but seemed more historic than anything else. We walked along next to the ocean, viewing all of the little shops before setting off on the road again. The next stop we made was at Big Sur. It was a bit foggy here but I managed to get a few photos. The photos really don’t capture how incredibly peaceful this place was. We stopped later for dinner at a little restaurant.

Our last stop was at Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery in San Simeon. THERE WERE SO MANY SEALS IT WAS SO CUTE. They were just laying there and playing with each other and it was honestly so mesmerising. Once we had an endless supply of photos, we left to drive the last hour or so to Pismo.

We went out in the morning to a little diner for breakfast – which had waffles the size of a person’s head – and then spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool in the sunshine.
