LA AND VENICE BEACH | Road Trip Photo Diary 2016
On the 17th July, we headed to LA. We drove straight through Malibu along the coast into Santa Monica. Sadly, we only spent a couple of days in LA but I will definitely go back because I really would like to explore some more places.
We started off by heading to Santa Monica Pier and the beach. After spending a while on the pier (not forgetting to at least ride one ride), we explored down towards Venice Beach. We visited the original Muscle Beach, which was very cool to see, before heading back to the car to drive to where we were staying ( a few blocks from Venice Beach). In the afternoon, we rented some bikes and rode along the beach. We looked around all the shops and little stalls too.
The next day we got up bright and early to go into Beverly Hills to catch a ‘hop-on-hop-off’ tour bus. This took us all the way around LA. From the Farmer’s Market, to the Walk of Fame and back. We explored each of these places and I really enjoyed walking around – especially when goggling at all of the expensive shops in Beverly Hills. Later in the evening, we headed up to the Observatory to get a better view of the Hollywood sign. Although it was a bit foggy, it was still an amazing view of LA.
The next day, we drove from LA to Anaheim. We stopped along the way at Universal Studios. This was very cool as the backlot tour took you around the actual working lot – America Ferrera was even there filming. It was interesting to see all of the sets and things you recognise from various things you’ve seen. The theming in Springfield and Hogsmeade was incredible and the rides – though motion simulators featured heavily – were fun too.
