ANAHEIM AND DISNEY | Road Trip Photo Diary 2016
On the 20th July, we made our way to Disney in Anaheim, stopping at Universal on the way. We were staying right across the road from the Disney parks which was very cool and meant we were up nice and early for entry.
On our first evening, we explored Downtown Disney. There were fairy lights everywhere and it looked almost dreamlike when the sun set. We had dinner and watched the fireworks from outside of the park. The next morning, we got up bright and early to get to the park for entry as there was a lot of security and a long line.
We started with Disneyland. I got myself some Minnie ears to make sure I was Disney ready and then we went to ride some rides. We took many many ice cream breaks as well as getting an obligatory Dole Whip (which was fab). We rode most of the rides (well the ones we wanted to) and I enjoyed walking around and seeing all the magic. In the evening, we stayed to watch the full fireworks but my camera can’t shoot well enough in the dark so I didn’t get many good photos. I didn’t get many photos of the parks as my camera mainly stayed in my bag whilst we were riding rides, however I got a few on my phone.
The next day, we got up early again to get into Disney California Adventure. I was looking forward to DCA, mainly because of Cars Land, but also because I didn’t really know what to expect. We walked in and down ‘Buena Vista Street’. From that you could turn off to walk into different areas – one was themed like Yosemite, another like a classic pier, another like Hollywood and so on. Obviously Cars Land was my favourite because I such a child AND OMG IN THE DARK IT WAS ALL LIT UP AND MY HEART EXPLODED, but it was all very cool. We went for dinner in the evening at the Grand Californian Hotel before coming back into the park to watch the ‘World of Colour’ fountain show.
Disney was very fun and I will always want to go back to Disney, especially since we didn’t get to do absolutely everything in both parks, BUT I LOVED IT AND I MISS IT AND I WANT TO GO BACK.
I really enjoyed our road trip and I cannot wait to do something like this again because I already miss it and it was fab. I would recommend every single place we went and wish I could go back and re-live it.
